As much as we want our resumes to be long and detailed, they should not be. A good rule of thumb is to keep them under two pages. If you have a lot of experience, then you may need to go over three pages. However, if you don't have any experience, then stick to two pages.
1. Use bullets
Bullets make your resume easier to read and understand. You can use bullet points to highlight skills and accomplishments. In addition, using bullets makes your resume look more professional.
2. Include dates
If you're applying for a job at a company where you've worked before, then including dates on your resume is a great way to show how well-rounded you are. Including dates shows employers that you know what's going on in their industry.
3. Keep it simple
Don't try to cram too many things onto your resume. Instead, focus on highlighting your best qualities and achievements. If you do decide to add some extra information, make sure it's relevant to the position you're applying for.
4. Don't forget to proofread
Make sure you double check everything on your resume. There's nothing worse than sending out a resume that looks sloppy and unprofessional.
5. Be consistent
When you apply for jobs, make sure you follow the same format each time. If you send out different versions of your resume, then you run the risk of confusing potential employers.
