Responsibilities:
- Drive the Defence projects and work in close co-ordination with multi discipline engineering teams.
- You will be solely responsible for execution of designated projects under the guidance of DGM defence projects.
- Planning & management of defence projects & similar projects involving design, development, manufacturing, inspection, testing and supply of equipment / systems.
- Drive the project interfacing with design, production, procurement and quality assurance departments for smooth progress of the project and meeting the project timelines.
- Lead / interface with sub-vendors and external design agencies for sub-contracting of work related to design, manufacturing and inspection as required for the project. Participate and in some cases lead the negotiations with vendors.
- Lead / interface with the QA division for inspection related activities and ensure readiness that inspection requirements of external QA agencies are and further visiting customer inspection agencies.
- Acquire in depth knowledge of the project to appropriately respond to customer queries on the project. Interface with customer for design / drawing approvals, project reviews and technical meetings.
- Acquire in depth knowledge of the project to appropriately respond to customer queries on the project.
- Attend project review meetings with customers.
- Coordinate the post-delivery support requirements of the customer.
Requirement:
- Qualifications / Experience Profile- BE / B.Tech in Mechanical
- Experience in executing projects related to equipment supplies involving design, manufacturing, inspection, testing etc.
- Experience in handling defence orders shall be helpful
- Should have very good knowledge of general engineering machinery & systems. Experience in preparation of specifications / Quality Assurance Plans / Test Protocols
- Good understanding of requirements (including applicable standards), manufacturing technology preferable.
- Exposure to project financial and taxation aspects.
- Experience in interaction and handling sub-vendors
- Excellent project management and contract management skills
- Sound negotiation skills
- Proactive approach to handling problems.
- Good oral & written communication and liaison skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills.
- Good IT Skills for project management and correspondence – MS Project, MS Excel, PPT etc.
- Person with approx 5 to 10 years’ experience in execution for projects for supply of engineered equipment. Experience in defence related manufacturing / production desirable.
- Should have very good knowledge in mechanical engineering and manufacturing processes.
