Financial Controller – Start Up – CA - 10+ Years – Mumbai

Hiring for a senior role of a Financial Controller for a fast paced and growing energy sector. If you have strong command on E2E finance functions including weekly and monthly closing of books, working capital, Treasury, debtors, COGS & inventory, payables and is enthusiastic about working with the fast paced organisation and be a member in its expansion, then this position is for you.

Location: Mumbai

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Finance Operations: Oversee working capital, treasury, debtors, COGS, inventory, payables, and monthly book closures in collaboration with teams.
  2. Reporting & Analysis: Provide P&L analysis, financial metrics, and variance reports to senior management for decision-making.
  3. Compliance: Implement Ind AS, facilitate internal audits, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  4. IPO & Fundraising: Support IPO data preparation and pre-IPO fundraising activities.
  5. Working Capital & Banking: Manage working capital, fund transfers, and banking relationships to ensure liquidity.
  6. Systems & ERP: Lead forecasting, budgeting, financial systems management, and ERP improvements, plus support ad-hoc reporting requests.

Requirements:

  1. CA with 10+ years of post-qualification experience, including Big 4 audit background with leadership of a 10-12 member team, or GM-level experience in accounting and finance.
  2. Should be currently working or previously having strong experience working in startups.  
  3. Experience managing 3-4 Managers (CAs) and a team of 10+ execution staff.
  4. Strong problem-solving skills, solution-oriented mindset, and ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines.
  5. Willing to work from the office at least 5 days a week (Mon-Sat working schedule).
  6. Experience in fast-growing organizations, with a hustler mindset and a strategic long-term vision.
