Data Protection Officer - Law / Cyber Security - 10+ Years

 

Role Summary

An exciting opportunity for an experienced privacy and data protection professional to lead data security, compliance, and risk management initiatives. As a Data Protection Officer (DPO), you will drive privacy programs, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring adherence to IT Act, GDPR, and global privacy laws. This role offers the chance to shape data protection frameworks and create a strong privacy culture within the organization.

Location:  Mumbai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Noida, Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop & Implement Data Protection Policies aligned with privacy laws and best practices.
  2. Monitor Compliance & Conduct Risk Assessments (DPIAs, PIAs) to mitigate data privacy risks.
  3. Training & Awareness: Deliver privacy training and promote a data protection mindset.
  4. Incident & Breach Response: Manage data breaches and ensure regulatory reporting compliance.
  5. Vendor & Third-Party Risk Management: Assess privacy risks in third-party engagements.

Requirements:

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor’s/Master’s in IT, Cybersecurity, Law, or related fields. An MBA/MS in Information Security is preferred.
  2. Privacy & Compliance Expertise: Strong knowledge of GDPR, IT Act 2000, India Data Protection Bill, and global privacy laws.
  3. Certifications: CIPP /CIPM / CISM (Required); CDPSE, CISSP (Preferred).
  4. Analytical & Communication Skills: Ability to advise stakeholders and implement privacy best practices.
