Responsibilities
- Compliance reporting – routine and ad-hoc, including coordination with stakeholders for data, drafting responses to authorities, tracking and updating registers, and maintaining copies of responses sent
- Compliance monitoring and review to ensure adherence to regulations
- Ensuring Anti-Money Laundering (AML), outsourcing, and rural/social compliance
- Reviewing advertisements for regulatory compliance
- Implementing regulatory updates within the organization
- Analyzing penalty orders/actions against industry players and comparing them with internal practices
- Preparing documentation for Board meetings
- Managing regulatory interactions and liaising with authorities
- Handling internal, external, and statutory audits, as well as regulatory inspections
- Responding to show-cause notices and other communications from regulators
- Providing legal advisories for both sales and non-sales functions
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate legal and compliance roles, preferably within the insurance industry
- Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance, including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and outsourcing regulations
- Experience in handling audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reporting
- Proven ability to analyze legal and regulatory penalties and provide actionable insights
- Excellent drafting, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
